Maths Intervention/Booster A Maths booster/intervention that can be printed off to create a booklet of activity worksheets for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children. The PowerPoint covers five weeks and covers a range of activities including number writing to 5 and then to 10, missing numbers, number recognition and representation using pictures and addition and subtraction using numbers to 5 and then numbers to 10. I have used this activity to support children with their understanding of number and addition and subtraction and it has helped to boost their confidence when they return to class. HFW Reading Intervention A reading intervention that covers 100 high frequency words/HFW. The words are split into 13 sets with five activities for children to complete for each set. The activities are - read the words, find and colour the star words, match and colour words starting with upper and lower case letters, read the sentences including hfw and use the picture to fill in the missing word and read the sentences and draw a picture to match the sentences. Please note that the sets do not contain equal numbers of words due to needing to construct sentences that make sense. Sentence Writing Intervention A sentence writing booster/intervention that can be printed off to create a booklet of activity worksheets for Early Years and Key Stage 1 children who are struggling with writing. The PowerPoint covers five weeks and introduces children to 35 of the 100 high frequency words/hfw. Each week covers reading the focus high frequency words, writing the focus words, cutting and sticking words to make a sentence and then writing a dictated sentence. I have used this activity to encourage children to write sentences with capital letters and full stops and to hold and repeat the sentence in their head. The intervention helps children to gain confidence when they are writing sentences. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children.

Introducing Money A complete Maths lesson for introducing money and coins. The lesson covers the different coins and their value using pennies. There is an activity for swapping coins for a single coin to demonstrate that different coins can be used to make up different amounts and shows children that we need to add the amounts together and not simply count the coins. The lesson includes three differentiated money worksheets and a short plenary. Money Activity Cards A set of money activity cards covering coins only. The cards are split into three sets - cards showing one dot work with coins up to 5p and values below 10p, cards showing two dots work with coins up to 10p and values below 20p and cards showing three dots work with coins up to 20p and values below 30p. There are four activities in each set - Activity 1 - what could I buy with …p activity Activity 2 - adding prices Activity 3 - how much money is in the purse? Activity 4 - can you put the correct amount of money in the purse? I laminate these cards for use in Maths lessons and children select the challenge that they would like to complete - one dot, two dots or three dots. Suitable for Early Years and Year 1 children.

2D Shapes Activity A fun Maths activity to introduce children to 2D shapes. The activity includes interactive activities for the children to join in with. The activity shows different 2D shapes and describes their properties. Children then have to guess the 2D shape that is being described or the 2D shape that is being slowly revealed. Children then have to explain why a shape eg a circle is not a triangle, this encourages children to use the vocabulary to describe 2D shapes and demonstrates their understanding of 2D shapes. There is also a shape spotting activity using pictures and an odd one out activity again encouraging children to describe and talk about the 2D shapes. My class have enjoyed using this PowerPoint to learn about 2D shapes and it encourages lots of talk about 2D shapes. The activity could be used as a whole class activity or in small intervention groups. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children. The activities in this set include drawing 2D shapes, recognising 2D shapes, finding the odd shape out, shape spotting and comparing 2D shapes. The cards can be used to encourage children to discuss 2D shapes using shape related language. These cards can be laminated for repeated use during Maths lessons or could be printed on a smaller scale and stuck in Maths books for children to complete. I have also laminated these 2D shapes activity cards to be completed during Early Work Activities or independent activities so as to reinforce learning about 2D shapes. These sheets focus solely on number bonds to 10. They also give children the opportunity to practise recording number sentences. I have used these as worksheets during Maths lessons plus have also laminated the different sheets for children to use during choosing time or early work. The set includes 6 number bond activities for making 10 including using a bar model, part whole models, addition and word problems. These cards can be used as part of a number bond Maths lesson or could be used during choosing time for children to practise number bonds to 10. The activity cards also give children the opportunity to practise recording number sentences. These cards can be laminated so that they can be used again. Number Bonds - Making Ten PowerPoint A number bonds activity for making 10. This Maths activity can support children to learn and practise number bonds to make 10. The activity shows children all of the different number bonds for making ten. Each number bond has a word problem eg I have ten dogs, 5 of them are playing in the garden. How many dogs are in the kennel? Children can solve these problems using objects and pictorial representations and record their number sentence on their whiteboards. Activity could be used as a whole class activity or in small groups. Aimed at Early Years and Year 1 children however could also be used as a recap or as part of an intervention group for Year 2 children.
